For thousands of years Satan had been misrepresenting the character of God. God was thought of as arbitrary, demanding, easily offended and responsible for suffering.

IV. His death
A. His death was in place of another (Vicarious)

Jesus did not die for His own sins - He was sinless 1 Peter 2:22

a) It met the penalty of the broken law - death
